Crusade

A/N: I have too many plot bunnies stuck in my head! Arrgh! Anyway, my slashy muse is begging to be set free. Out out slashy muse! *Beats self with blunt object* Ahhhh... Better now.

Disclaimer: All things related to FF are not mine. If I owned Final Fantasy, Edea would be the star of her own game and Tidus and Yuna's voice actors would be dragged into the street and shot by a firing squad. Please don't sue me. I'm poorer than Enron stockholders!

I woke up next to her. Her pale skin was shining in the moonlight, and I ran my fingers softly through her long, ebony hair before getting out of our bed. I quickly dressed myself, slipping out of her sight into the empty streets of Besaid. Looking behind me to make sure she hadn't followed me, I made my way to the Crusader's Lodge. There he sat. Luzzu.

"You're late," he muttered.

I smiled. "Lu had a hard time falling asleep. But I'm not usually late, ya?"

Luzzu looked at me and grinned. "Stop adding 'ya' to the end of your sentences. You're beginning to sound like that idiot brother of yours."

I unsheathed my short sword and waved it at him jokingly. "Don't you insult Wakka while I'm around, bigshot!"

We laughed together, and he pulled me into his arms. "I don't care if you're late. I just care that you're here. I was afraid that woman had finally gotten to you for good."

I nuzzled his shoulder. "It's not my fault that she loves me, Luzzu. Lulu is dependent. She acts cool and collected, but she needs a man to be with. I'm not going to shatter her little dream."

"Even when you're fucking me every night when she falls asleep?"

I was a little surprised at his vulgarity. Luzzu never swore, if he could help it. Our liasons had been going on for months now, but Lulu still thought that I was going to propose to her. "Luzzu... I don't know what to say to her. She loves me. She thinks I love her back. I can't just say, 'Hey Lu! I'm gay and I'm leaving you', can I?"

"Why not?" he asked. "She's a heartless bitch anyway. She's never smiled since she was four years old." I drew away from him a bit, but he pulled me closer. "I love you," he whispered. He had never said that to me before. Usually, our meetings were about mutual lust. Luzzu couldn't be open about his sexuality because of Crusader regulations, and I had the old ball-and-chain.

"I... I think I love you too," I whispered back. He kissed me. I kissed him. We took off from there, weeks of tension building up to a peak. I still insisted to Lulu that we save ourselves for marriage. It was an excuse that wouldn't hold out for long. I didn't want Lulu, or any other woman for that matter. I wanted Luzzu, and my enthusiasm in bed showed it.

Afterward, he lit up some Ronso tobacco, and we lay under the stars behind the Crusader's Lodge for hours, sharing a cigarette. "I have to go back," I murmured, "Lu will wake up soon."

"I have an idea," he said. "To get that woman out of the picture."

"I don't want to crush her, Luzzu. And Wakka would never speak to me again if he knew I was gay."

"Come with me," he insisted. "Be a Crusader. We'll leave this village behind! I love you, Chappu."

I love you Chappu

That pushed me. I turned to him, and smiled. "When do we leave?" I replied.
