"Hey, it's a Saiyan! Get 'im!"

it was always rough on the streets but Aidan was used to it. One couldn't turn a corner without being called "vagrant" or "saiyan filth". Although normally only particularly angry, drunk, or stupid people would attack him like this and even then it was only people who had homes and lives. All the other homeless people left him pretty much alone. Probably because they were all in the same boat.

The people jumped at Aidan… but found themselves lying on the ground with several more bruises than they'd had when they'd started the fight. Aidan sighed to himself as he walked away. Will they ever learn? he thought.

When he arrived home (a few ripped up cushions and a broken couch in an alley in the middle of the city) he looked up at the traffic of air-cars bustling around the Ankron tower, the foot of which was across the road from his alley, and saw one of the old Capsule corp. bikes zoom past them. I wonder what it's like to ride one of those he wondered.

'Well,' he said to himself 'If I ever get outta here I'll try.'

Aidan awoke at twilight sensing danger. He rose from the couch and walked to the end of the alley and saw on the horizon a tiny speck in the air that was rapidly getting closer. For some reason he could feel immense power emanating from it.

'Hey you!'

He turned to see a man in a long jacket running towards him.

'What?'

'You're in serious danger. You need to come with me,' the man said hurriedly.

'Who are you?' Aidan demanded.

'A friend.'

Aidan looked from this mystery man to the approaching thing on the horizon. He wasn't sure he wanted to see it close up.

'Alright,' he said uneasily 'but where are we going?'

'To the top of the Ankron tower,' the man replied ' there's a transport waiting for us there. Let's go.'

They ran into the tower and entered the elevator. Aidan had heard about these but had never actually used one. The stranger pressed the 45 button. An electronic voice said: 'floor forty-five. Roof.' And the lift started moving. The man chuckled at Aidan's shock. When they reached their destination the voice said: 'Forty-five, thank you, have a nice day.'

Ankron tower was the tallest building in the city and was impossibly high. The roof was empty when they stepped out of the lift.

'That's funny, I thought I told them to wait here. Come on, let's have a look.'

They walked to the edge.

It's getting closer.

After one scan of the city Aidan caught on.

'There is no transport, is there?' he growled furiously.

'Well, actually I have arranged a transport for you,' laughed the man, taking the pistol out of his jacket and aiming at him 'Into the next dimension.- Saiyan filth.' He emptied the gun into Aiden's chest

1 Closer!

He knocked the gun away and punched. His eyes were so blurry he wasn't even sure if he'd hit the traitor, let alone knocked him off the edge.

2 Closer!

Aiden swayed, and fell.

3 CLOSER!

The pain in his chest was so great all he could see were blurs streaking past him and the ground rushing up to meet him.

4 SO CLOSE!

The wind rushed past him, bringing him closer and closer to the ground .

He blacked out. Speeding to almost certain death.

5 IT'S HERE!

6 Almost…
