Title: The first sunrise

Summary: (Something written to kill time before season 2 begins tonight.) The first sunrise in freedom, seen by an X6. (Drabble, if I'm right)

Disclaimer: Even writing disclaimers is fun to kill time before Designate This begins! So, I don't own them, This is just an small sort of drabble.

A/N: I have an sixth sense... Wow... I was spinning in my bed, then turned on the TV and BOOM!!!!! Dark Angel commercial!! So I thank my brother for keeping me up... And I hate myself for spoiling this episode, knowing Manticore's goin' down...

A/N: This is a pure Time-killer, Seven hours to go till season #2 Begins, so review if you want. I'm planning to start an story with this X6 in it, but I'm not quite sure.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The fire destroyed my home. The only place I ever knew. It was my life, my heart, my air.

And now it's gone.

I should feel sorry, but I don't. The moment I ran, I felt something.

It was something warm, unleashing itself in my heart. All my training was gone, and love took over.

And, these last few hours I wondered.

I wondered why I let Manticore take over my soul, my life, my will. Why did I let it order me around, doing whatever they wanted me to do?

Maybe the answer's simple; It's because I'm not normal.

But, why would they keep me from enjoying the sunrise, with it's orange stripes filling the sky, warming up the earth.

And my heart.

For the first time, I let an full-smile escape my lips. No one is there to smack me in the face, giving me an speech about 'Phoney Sentimality'.

It's just me and the sun, that's rising above the salty water. Beaming it's warmth onto me and the rest of the world. It's almost as if it's smiling at me, telling me to smile, laugh and enjoy myself.

Which I'm going to do. I'm going to run, smile and enjoy myself. From now on, I'm taking orders from no one but me.

I rise from the earth, and stand tall. The sun is now casting it's full glory t my skin.

We have both risen, starting an new life.
