Spike left her to cry in peace and went to check up on Jet, who was tending to his bonsai, with hollow eyes. He knew talking to him wouldn't help, after his experience with Faye, but he just sat and watched his friend. He could tell by the look on Jet's face that he saddened that he had walked into his own death.

"I guess I won't have anyone complaining about my cooking or how we always had bell peppers and beef without the beef," Jet said aloud to nobody in particular with a sad smile on his face. "Why Spike? I didn't stop you, I always let you make your own decisions, but maybe I should've stepped in. Maybe not, I don't know. Things aren't going to be the same…"
