Sherlock Holmes Slash Poetry
SONNET: Voice - Dr. John H. Watson, MD
note: this is set during the story where Holmes returns from his supposed death. details are taken from the story itself, and I of course do not own these characters.
I spun a web of dreams around your ghost
And built your altar in my grieving heart
Discovered I too late this golden coast
For fate, it seemed, had caused you to depart.
I wandered and I learned to loyally cope
Until a visitor changed the melody
Surprise and love and joy and fearless hope!
The man I loved stood high in front of me!
I fainted and awoke to his dear face
His silver eyes examining my own
A power rocked me and I prayed for Grace
Would I in this affection be alone?
He gently (so, I was not long thus vexed)
Held brandy to my lips, and his came next.
