While You were Sleeping
While you were sleeping the darkenss crept up again... Again I was cosumed by the grief and pain.
While you were sleeping I remembered those who had died because of me. I thought of their loved ones who would never be able to hold them again.
While you were sleeping, I wondered why I had the right to deny those people their lives. My cause was no more just than theirs was, how do I know that I was fighting for the right thing?
While you were sleeping I imaginied what life would be like without me. I dreamed of what this world would be like if there was no one to fight against OZ.... and it wasn't really so bad.
While you were sleeping, I cried in the dark, wishing I had never existed, wishing that someone would just hold me, make the pain go away.
While you were sleeping... It was so easy to become who I had once been, before peace, before love, before you. I lived as, am now, a Bringer of Death, the antithesis of life.
And now, I am allowed to rest, to sleep, to escape the pain. I am finally allowed to leave this hellish world behind... while you were sleeping.
