"Help!! Somebody, get this thing away from me!!"

A young woman ran into the Great Hall screaming, while a ginger cat came bounding after her hissing and with it's claws outstretched.

"Crookshanks!" Hermione shrieked.

The woman continued to run with every student's eyes following her. She stopped in front of the Great Table and pulled out her wand.

"No!" Hermione jumped up from the Gryffindor table and ran to Crookshanks, but before she could stop the strange woman, she had already made the ginger cat disappear in a puff of sliver-gray smoke.

Dumbledore stood up and had a disturbed look in his soft, blue eyes. Hermione stood in awe and a tear managed to escape her pretty, brown eyes.

The strange woman turned around and faced Dumbledore. The wise Headmaster looked her square in the eyes. She was tall, beautiful, young woman who had long brown hair and sparkling gray eyes.

"Why are you here, Laura?" he spoke softly.

"You remember me?" she choked. "It's been, what, several years?"

"Of course I remember you, and you're not supposed to be here." he coughed suddenly.

Laura looked down at her dirty robes and old, worn wand. "I came to warn you, Dumbledore, and all you can say is that I'm not supposed to be here?"

"You know why, Miss-" he began.

"No!!" she interrupted. "Don't say it!!"

"Excuse me?" Dumbledore was startled.

"Don't say it, here, now!" she begged.

"Laura, what's wrong?"

"I don't want you-know-who to know about me!"

"Come to my office, Laura." he spoke softly as he got up from the Great Chair. "You too, Hermione."

They followed him out of the Great Hall with everyone's eyes following them, out the doors. Soon it was filled with chatting and laughing once again.

"Who's Laura?" Professor Trelawny whispered to Professor Sprout.

"I don't know." she replied. "Do you know remember a Laura?" she whispered to Professor Flitwick.

"Nope, can't say I do." he squeaked.

Professor Snape's eyes scanned every Hogwarts teacher as they whispered among themselves. Finally, they all looked up at him and threw him looks of suspicion. He looked away and grinned evilly...he knew. Professor Flitwick just shrugged and continued eating his dinner. The rest of the teachers dropped the subject also and began talking about other things. Madame Hooch about flying, Professor Trelawny about star charts, planets, and the future, and Professor McGonagall just kept a serious face, but every once in while, she made a small, suspicious glance at Snape. The truth was, every teacher did know who she was, but the matter wasn't something they all wanted to talk about...you see, they had only forgotten who she was, which is very strange, considering the reason why her subject matter wasn't something to be talked about...yet, everyone chose to forget, because of her incredibly poor choices...

Well, how's my story so far? Confused? Good, you should be! I 'm going to tell more about Laura's situation in later chapters, so just sit tight. I think it should get interesting, but who knows. I really don't have a plot, I guess I'm just going to make it up as I go along. So, just R/R!
