She Cares
Buffy was exhausted. For the first time in weeks she had gone on patrol and actually patrolled. She had dusted 5 vamps and 2 of them weren't even fledglings. She couldn't wait to get home. Her muscles where killing her and her back throbbed with pain. She idly thought about what she was going to do to make herself feel better. A warm shower and a cozy bed sounded so nice at the moment.
As she walked though the back door and into her kitchen. She immediately knew something was off. The light was off in but Willow's and Dawns room and it was so late she was sure they were asleep. But she could feel someone's presents in the house and heard sounds coming from the living room. As she got closer she could see the faint glow of the TV. As she entered the room she looked to the sofa to see Spike sleeping soundly.
What was he doing here? She quickly became furious. How dare he show up in her house and just think he could do what ever he wants. Watch her television and sleep on her coach. Why was he even here? She couldn't believe he would just… just… She looked at him, her anger slowly melting away. He looked so vulnerable there. The lines on his defined cheek bones where softer and his face more relaxed than she ever had seen it before. She slowly went over to him and draped the wool blanket, which had been on the back of the sofa, over him. Then bent down slowly and kissed him check.
Getting up slowly she went to the windows and closed the blinds making sure no sunlight would reach him in the morning. With that simple action she realized something. She cared about him. As much as she loved to deny it… she did care about him. She supposed this was the first step to acceptance. She cared. She cared.
She walked up the stairs to her bedroom. Pondering what she had just admitted to herself. She would talk to him in the morning.
************
End. But wait! Don't you want to know how he got on the couch? Don't you want to know what she will tell him in the morning? Well… if I get enough good reviews….
