Disclaimer: You know.

Hey. Hope you like my story. I STILL THINK WE NEED MORE CLARK/LANA STORIES. I'm begging... PLEASE?! Thank you. =]

What You Don't Remember

Clark watched as Lana stood on the diving board in her red lingerie. She did a flip and dove in. His breathing became shallow as he tried to clear his mind. This isn't her. He thought to himself. However, his body thought something completely different.

He walked slowly, but got as far as his long legs could take him with each step. He came to a stop at the end of the diving board and dove in after Lana. He came up to the surface of the water, only to come face to face with the beautiful Lana Lang. He reached through the water and pulled her closer. Their lips met with a bolt of electricity as they sank deeper into the water.

"CLARK ARE YOU DONE YET?! YOU GONNA BE LATE FOR SCHOOL!!!"

His mother's voice shook Clark Kent from his daydream. He opened his eyes to realize that he was in the water, but a shower instead of a pool. And there was no Lana Lang with him.

Clark sat on the school bus and stared out the window, looking at Lana's house. He wondered what things would have been like if Lana remember what exactly happened in the pool that day. It wouldn't matter anyways. She wasn't herself. Clark thought.

Clark sat on the bleachers and stared down at the field. The day was halfway over, and he couldn't get Lana off his mind. He came out in order to be alone. Seeing her made his daydreams worse.

"Hey Clark." A quiet voice said to him.

"Oh hey Lana." Clark looked up and saw Lana. Now, every time he saw her, he thought of how she looked at the pool. She was so beautiful.  He wished he could see her again.

"Am I bothering you? Chloe said you might be out here."

"No, of course not." Clark was lying. She was bothering him, because she didn't love him the way he did her.

"Well, I just wanted to thank you for taking me to the windmill the other day. It was really sweet."

"It was my pleasure. "

Lana just smiled and sat down next to Clark.

"Wow, it's so peaceful out here compared to the cafeteria."

"Yeah." Clark answered. "I come out here when I need to think."

"Oh my gosh, I'm sorry. You wanted to be alone." Lana said quickly, standing up.

Clark quickly reached up and pulled her back down.

"I'd rather be with you any day."

"Oh." Lana said, hesitantly.

Clark panicked. He didn't want to push Lana away with his corny lines.

"I mean... you're the only person I can really talk to, you know?"

"Yeah." Lana said, sounding relieved. "You're the only person that understands me."

"What about Whitney?" Clark couldn't help cringing as he said the name.

"Whitney's... not the most understanding person."

"What do you mean?"

"Well, for example, this morning, he actually came over to my house to make sure I wasn't wearing my," Lana made quotation marks with her fingers. "'skimpy outfit'"

"Ouch."

"Yeah. I really wish I could remember what happened the last couple of days."

"I dunno about that. You might be better off not knowing." Clark said jokingly.

Lana started to get frustrated.

"Damn it. Why is everyone saying that? It's my life. I think I have a right to know what exactly it is that happened!"

There was silence, apart from Lana's heavy breathing trying to calm herself down."

Clark's voice sounded sad. "You're right. I'm sorry Lana."

"No, I'm sorry Clark, I shouldn't have taken it out on you. I'm just... frustrated. You know?"

"Yeah. I know."

"Clark, do you think you can do something for me?"

"Anything Lana." Clark regretted saying that.

"Can you tell me exactly what I did? Honestly? And don't leave out ANYTHING. Please?"

Lana put her hand on Clark's arm and looked into his eyes, pleading. Clark felt helpless.

Don't do it. Don't do it. You're gonna hurt her. DON'T DO IT!!! His mind yelled at him.

His voice cracked as he said, "What do you remember?"
