(A story told through the eyes of the guard from Death Mountain

Ch. 1

"May I pass?" A little boy in all green asked

I scoffed, this little child wanted to enter the death mountain, anybody who's anybody doesn't go up there. They ent' allowed. "No one shall pass. See the sign? Well, you must be to young to read" I said, looking down at the kid. He turned his head and looked at the sign. For a second I thought I saw a glimmer of light, but it ent' anything. Then he turned back to me, "I can read sir, but here. Look at this." He took out some paper. I took it from him and looked at it. "Well this ent' nothing but the princess' handwriting, ent' it?" He nodded. "Hmm… This is Link, he has my permission to save Hyrule! HA!" I said, laughing, "What joke is our princess playing on us now? Well, she ent' to be questioned," I opened the gate. He looked up at me, he was so little but he had a sword and a shield made out o' wood. "Son, you gonna need a better shield if'n you gonna go climbing the mountain. Go to town an' buy one from the Bazaar, tell'm I sent you. And, if'n you don't mind, there is some new mask shop down there. My kid's been naggin' me to go and buy him a mask, but I ent' got time.. So can you go for me? You don't hafta or nothing.. If you do, you'd be a real hero!" He smiled and ran back into the village. Nice kid, I thought. I looked up at the sky, sunset was right around the corner. I hoped he come back before the sun set, them monsters out in the field ent' to be messing with.
