I woke up in a dream today
To the cold of the static / and put my cold feet on the floor
Forgot all about yesterday
Remembering I'm pretending to be where I'm not anymore
A little taste of hypocrisy
And I'm left in the wake of the mistake / slow to react
Even though you're so close to me
You're still so distant / And I can't bring you back
Heero sadly gazed at the sleeping Duo.
"Aah. You never loved me, did you?
I had warned you that I am definitely not one who will be easy to love?"
He lowered his head, and placed his right hand over his heart.
"I know I love you.. but what is this.. feeling of regret I have..?!
It's true / the way I feel
Was promised by your face
The sound of your voice
Painted on my memories
Even if you're not with me
I'm with you
Heero gently kissed the top of Duo's head,
and silently walked out of the room.
"I need time.. collect my thoughts.
I don't wanna mess up Duo's life.
That's the last thing I want to happen.
He stared up at the sky,
smiling faintly.
He could still see Duo's face,
wistfully staring at him.

Grinning, he sorted his memories.
He saw a younger Duo,
trying to 'save' Relena from a 'monster'.
Heero smiled.
"Duo is always puts others in front of himself.
He brought out the person in me..
him and Relena.
For that,
I owe them the world."
He then frowned..
"I don't deserve Duo.
I bet there is another person fated to be with him."
Pursing his lips, he remembered their latest fight..
I hit you and you hit me back
We fall to the floor / the rest of the day stands still
Fine line between this and that
When things go wrong I pretend the past isn't real
Now I'm trapped in this memory
And I'm left in the wake of the mistake / slow to react
"I hate you, Duo Maxwell!
I HATE YOU!!"
he had screamed with such utter disgust.
Heero shuddered,
hearing his shrill screaming breaking the silence.
But Duo stood there,
letting Heero accuse him of fraud,
and of not being there.
Heero cupped his hand in his face.
"It was only yesterday,
but I feel a barrier has sprung between us.
Because of my insolence,
we can never go back to the way it was..
Even though you're close to me
You're still so distant / And I can't bring you back
Duo stood in his doorway.
He had heard Heero's shuffling about.
"'Wonder if he's still angry with me?
I feel bad.
He's been through so much,
and I haven't known what to do to help him through it."
Sighing,
he walked out of the room and saw Heero standing in the middle of their living room,
trembling..

No matter how far we've come..
Duo grabbed Heero by the shoulder and stared him in the eyes.
"Oh, Heero." sighed Duo.
"You have never been one to admit his problems."
Heero looked at him with such a sad expression that it made Duo practicly melt.
"Heero? Do ya think I'm mad at you?"
Heero nodded slowly, without speaking.
Duo gave him a sad look.
"Oh, Heero. I never WAS mad at you.
But everything you have accused me of was completely the TRUTH!
I wasn't there for you.."
Heero cut him off.
"Look. That was in the past.
Let's live in the future, alright?"
Duo nodded, happily.
The both looked at each other,
and walked back to get some sleep..
I can't wait to see tomorrow
