Walls
How painful it can be at times
Not letting your feelings show,
Though you've tried so hard throughout your life
To stop your emotion's flow.
You've trapped your heart inside thick walls,
A boundary made of steel,
Determined to hide the desperate cries
Of loneliness that you feel.
You sense as though you're all alone
Among this world of man
And even your kin—those of your kind
Would not truly understand
There's something else behind your rage,
A secret within your soul,
An unfulfilled need to feel in place
That's making you lose control
How can you live behind these walls,
Tumbling into despair—
When will you break free from this barred cage,
And let your tears brush the air?
How painful it can be at times
Not letting your feelings show,
Though you've tried so hard throughout your life
To stop your emotion's flow.
You've trapped your heart inside thick walls,
A boundary made of steel,
Determined to hide the desperate cries
Of loneliness that you feel.
You sense as though you're all alone
Among this world of man
And even your kin—those of your kind
Would not truly understand
There's something else behind your rage,
A secret within your soul,
An unfulfilled need to feel in place
That's making you lose control
How can you live behind these walls,
Tumbling into despair—
When will you break free from this barred cage,
And let your tears brush the air?
