Prologe:

Erinia stared at the ground, and realized that the rain was starting to fall. The rain drops dripped slowly down her cheeks, while the downpour continued around her. She was somewhere in the woods of Rivendell, awaiting the return of her Prince.

Her horse was somewhere in the near distance, but she made no movements in that general direction. She just wanted to sit there, and absorb the rain. Soon she was sure if the wetness on her face was the raindrops, or her own tears. She missed him.

Him. Prince Legolas of Mirkwood. He had left for Mirkwood shortly after they arrived in Rivendell, and she knew that Thranduil was holding him up. For the past three months. Three longs months, she had been seperated from her love. Legolas was her love.

Suddenly a horse came to the side of her, and it turned out to be her hand-maiden, Allimayfi. The younger elf handed Erinia a letter, and then rode off without a word. Erinia wasted no time in opening the letter, hoping it was from her Legolas. It was, but it did not say what she expected.

Dear Erinia,

Oh my love, how I miss you so. Father has kept me here on royal business, and he wants me to rule Mirkwood soon. I am not ready. I cannot be King. And oh my love, I need you to know that I love you so much. But I am betrothed to Corasinni Rosemary, the daughter of my father's advisor. I do not love her, I love you Erinia. Please, wait for me. I will find a way out of this promised marriage. I will marry you.

I love you my lady,

Legolas Greenleaf

Erinia had tears pouring from her eyes, and she was certain now that they were tear. She hastily wiped them from her eyes, but they kept coming. She kept telling herself that it wasn't true, that this letter before her was not from Legolas. But she knew that it was true, for it was Legolas's beautiful penning.

"Oh Legolas..." She sucked in a breath.

And then her scream filled the air.
