Once upon a time,
Long, long ago.
There lived a girl
And her handsome beau.

These were the stories
The sister told me.

When I was but three.

I loved her with
A hug and a kiss.
But it wasn't always,
Always like this.

I hid behind the altar -
She was on a pew.
There she asked me,
"How do you do?"

I was struck by the kindness
That shined in her eyes.
Before, all I knew was
Just lies and more lies.

One step forward, then
Two, three, four.
I was caught like a fish
And I wanted more.

I collapsed in her lap,
And I cried it all out.
That day left me with
