The Ceremony

Duo Maxwell is an eighteen year old boy.
Right now he was sitting on a street curb.
He was debating on how he would propose to Hilde Shbeiker.
He pulled out a purple leather box. In it was a diamond.
It sparkled in the sunlight.
"Man, I really owe Heero for this one." He said as he fingered the ring.
He heard a bark and he looked up from the ring.
Across the street a black dog was running down the sidewalk.
"That is it!" Duo cried as he leapt to his feet.
He ran down the sidewalk of the busy street. His braid flew behind him.
Cars wizzed by on the road as he ran, people lept to the side to get out of the way of the onrushing man.
He skidded to a halt in front of a particular shop.
In the window it said in big bold letters 'Joes Pet shop.'
"A-ha." He said as he opened the door.
A bell dinged as he stepped inside.
"Hello, how may I help you sir?" a chubby man asked as he saw Duo enter.
The man was rather large around the waist, had a short brown beard. He wore a white shirt and a pair of black pants.
"Um, yeah do you have any dogs?" Duo inquired.
"Where do you think you aree? The anti-dog pet store! Come on follow me." The man bellowed.
Duo walked behind the man.
He led Duo down a long hall way, posted up in the hall way, at variouse angles were posters of pets.
"Here we go." The fatter man motioned towards a door. On the door it said in big dull letters 'Dogs'.
Duo walked into the room.
There was a narrow hall way with kennels arranged around the room. Dogs barked as if saying; 'Pick me Pick me! Get me out of this hell hole!'
Duo glanced along the wall. "Do you have any puppies, that do not scare me?" he said motioning to a bull dog with red eyes.
"Yeah, sure. We only got one though." The man motioned to a cage at the far end of the wall.
Inside of it was a small black labrador retriever. He had brown eyes.
"Awww, it is so cute. I will take it." Duo cried as he handed the man a wad of bills.
"Here ya go!" he handed Duo a leash and clipped it to the dog.
Duo and his new pet walked out of the pet store.
"So how about we let Hilde name ya." He said looking down on the puppy.
The dog barked in response.
"There is your new home boy!" he said to the dog as he pointed to a building a block down. "Yep you are one lucky dog, that is the only apartment building in town that allows dogs!"
The dog wagged its tail, as Duo pushed open the door.
Duo walked over to the elevator and pressed the up button. The elevator opened and they stepped in. He pressed the second floor button and the elevator went up.
The door dinged and slid open.
"Now room thirty-four, where are you?" he murmured. "Aha!"
He pushed the door open, Hilde was laying in bed.
Duo Maxwell kneeled down and whispered into the dogs ear and said, "Go get her boy."
The dog ran off yipping all the way, it jumped onto the bed and began licking Hilde in the ear.
"What the- Oh you are so cute!" she said as she pat the dog.
She looked up and saw Duo standing in the doorway grinning.
His heart began to race and his palms began to sweat *any minute now* he thought.
"Hey, what is this?" she said as she pulled a little box out of the dogs collar.
Duo watched as she opened it, a grin came across his face.
She looked over.
"Will you?" he asked.
"Yes, yes I will!" she cried and leapt up. She ran over to Duo and took him into her arms.
They stood there pationately kissing and hugging until Hilde cried, "I gotta call Relena!"
He watched her excitedly run to the phone.
He loved her….
