Disclaimer: Harry Potter is owned by the wonderful JKR, I only own the plot (if there is any)
Timeline: 1000-something, when the founders were still alive
Rating: PG-13
Pairings: Godric Gryffindor/Salazar Slytherin
Summary: My first try at GG/SS and my first snippet. Salazar leaves Hogwarts.
Feedback: Feedback is appreciated and passed round, flames as well. Reviews will make me write my other SS/GG sooner and faster.
Author's note 2: Slash. This is sad and a bit angsty *whoop* If you wonder why they're talking well… like people in the 21st century - I have troubles writing modern-day English without too many mistakes, if I tried to write Old English it would be not understandable. Maybe I'll translate it into German, then I'm gonna have a try at mediaeval German.
Saying Goodbye
By Artemis (Artemis1000@gmx.net)
It's a cold winter morning at Hogwarts, the whole area was covered in a thick layer of snow.
Salazar Slytherin was watching impatiently how the last trunk was heaved onto his carriage when he heard footsteps approaching.
Since someone was tugging violently at the sleeve of his winter cape he finally decided to take a look at his visitor. His eyes were blazing with irritation when the founder turned around on his heel. In front of him stood Godric Gryffindor, panting like he'd run and looking utterly miserable. "What do you want?!", he snapped.
"Please don't leave, Salazar."
That wasn't what he'd expected. A bitter, hateful dismissal, maybe a threat never to return. But this caught him momentarily off guard. "And why the hell can't I leave?"
"Because… because you can't. And because I don't want you to leave. I need you here, Salazar." He blushed when he noticed what he'd said and amended, "I mean WE need you here. Helga, Rowena and me."
"No, you don't. If you insist on muggle-born visiting Hogwarts then I have no longer any place here." Salazar's voice was icy cold when he commanded, "now let go of my robes, Gryffindor, I don't have all day!"
Godric knew that the hurt would be visible in his eyes, but he didn't cared. This was anyway the last time he would ever see Salazar Slytherin. "I… I'm sorry", he said lamely and stepped back from the carriage.
With sad eyes he watched how the man he'd built Hogwarts with got on the coach and left Hogwarts for the last time. Only when he's absolutely sure that Salazar wouldn't hear him he whispered, "…but I love you."
The End
Sad, isn't it? Well, I'm in a depressive mood at the moment.
