This is also about Gandalf... I read Kunfuqueen's poem about when Gandalf left Middle-Earth, so I was inspired to write one about his arrival.

Upon Arriving at the Grey Shores

I did not wish to come here;
To leave the splendor of the Undying Land.
Ever further I am from my home,
And ever closer my heart is to it.
How I miss it already!
How I fear Sauron!
Cunning. Clever.
A crafty master
Of torment and disguise.

As I masquerade
As a little old man,
I must convince these Children,
Elves and Men,
To resist. To fight.
If that may bring me any closer
To the Blessed Realm
To which my heart belongs,
Then that is my mission,
and I shall not fail.

I shall be the hand of Fate,
who will use me to weave Her threads,
so that the world will be as it should.
My years will be long and countless.
Full of hardships undescribable,
Many friends, and many foes.
I will toil and I will trudge and I will suffer.
Through fire and through ice,
through darkness and despair,
through peace and love till the end of this age,
this will be my road home.
