~I'm not a child, yet here I am winding up an android as if it were a doll. Is it?~
~No.~
She looks up at him sleepily as her body revs up.
"Ro-ger." It is almost a question. It is as close as she gets to uncertainty.
"You're okay now. I'm here." He carefully removes Timothy Waynewright's key from her chest. He helps her to button her top three dress buttons back up.
~I didn't see any more than is decent! And it was nessecary to help her...so why am I embarrassed?~
"Thank you. You saved me." The unspoken "my life" hangs between them. She, not used to acknowledging help that grand, and he unused to giving it, try both to voice and ignore the immensity of the deed.
"You hired me to protect you, didn't you? Just doing my job."
He pulls her to her feet. She wobbles a bit, but with his support, pulls herself into her customary ramrod-straight posture.
"I would like to go home now."
"All right." Dialing his watch, he summons the Griffon.
