This is a little poem I wrote that is sort of Frodo talking about his fate. I read to my mom, who said I should post it here, and I can't believe I'm actually doing just that.
Frodo's Song
I did not ask to have this fate
I did not ask to bear this weight
This tiny thing
This little ring.
I am the one to bear the ring
A hobbit am I, I am no king
Yet I must journey on
The path ahead is long.
I yearn for the home I left behind
I can still see it in my mind
The fire bright
The warmth and light.
Though I am surrounded by many friends
Old and new, my back still bends
My feet are cold
I feel old.
One day I know the end will near
Yet still my heart is filled with fear
I can't go on
It is too long.
One day my journey will be done
And then I will look up to see the sun
I will go home
And cease to roam.
And then I will see your face, my friend
When we go there
And back again.
