Dayfire44: Over this past week I've discovered a new type of writer's disease 'Writers Cascade.' So far I've written 50 pages in my notebook about different chunk's of the story line. Hell, I even wrote the ending first! But I seem to be winding down for now so I'll have time to write up most of this stuff.
Coolest Author Around: Cherry Blossom "You know who you are!" "Read Bleeding on the Inside and learn. Go Cherry-sama!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
By Robert Frost 'The Road Not Taken'
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler,
As the wind played maypole with my hair I clutched the shingles tighter, not wanting to fall off the roof. Why was I up on the roof you ask? Well, I always have come to the roof when I'm troubled, as I was now.
"They took her away you know," I said conversationally to the tiny blue star separated from the others by a ring of black sky. "They just came and took her away, right in the middle of class. 'Everything has been taken care of' they said. 'You're being adopted, how happy you must be!'"
I felt my thought close up and I rubbed at the tears prickling my eyes. "I didn't even know she was gone until I came home and all her stuff was gone." The playful breeze was replaced by a cold wind that knifed through my baggy jeans at cotton t-shirt. I shivered. "We wanted to go together. We knew it probably wouldn't happen but still…." I sighed and tilted my head back against the chimney. "Good night, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite but if they do use dynamite!"
No, I'm not insane but I always say that phrase every night. Either to her or my star. Her star is a big red on in the cluster above the chimney. Every kid in the orphanage has on, we tell them stuff we can tell no one else. As I slipped back in through the skylight I whispered the six words that would change my whole life—forever. "I wish I could change things……"
