1 Chapter 1
Destiny walked down the halls of the Orphanage, glancing in the windows to make sure the Mistresses didn't spot her. She wasn't allowed to be out of bed, let alone this far down the hall. She jumped when she heard a small noise, but realised it was only her friend, Kate.
"Destiny?" Kate asked. "Where are you going?" Destiny glanced round and then looked at the girl.
"Kate, get back to bed!" she muttered furiously, her blue eyes scanning the halls. "Do you want to get kicked out?" Kate shook her head and scrambled back to their dorm. Destiny started walking towards the door and then she ran to the groundkeepers hut.
"Mr. Johnson! Mr. Johnson!" she called, banging on his door. A grunt sounded from inside the hut, and the door swung open. A face peered out into the dark, but by then Destiny had run back to her dorm. When she ran through the door of her dorm, Kate was waiting for her. Running her hand through her disheveled blond hair, Destiny ran to her bed and jumped in, tucking herself under the covers. She motioned for Kate to do the same, and no sooner had Kate gotten into bed, Mistress Townsend walked through the doors.
"Destiny, Kate, James and Lucius," Mistress Townsend said, reading from a list. "Would you please come with me?" Destiny stood up and walked out, flicking her blond hair over her shoulder. Kate followed her, then came a boy with black hair and brown eyes. After him came a cold-looking boy with dirty blond hair and cold gray eyes. Destiny especially hated Lucius (blond hair, grey eyes) as he had picked on her from her first day at the orphanage.
"You four children are very lucky. There is a lady here to adopt all of you. Her name is Minerva MacGonagall."
