1 For The Sake of Duty by Sailor Pikapuff
A short story about a rare type of Pokemon, a light Jolteon.
I was well known in the area in which I lived, just south of Goldenrod City.
My kind always are.
I'm a Light Jolteon.
I don't care about battling. I don't care about winning.
That's the problem.
Because now I am a trainers Pokemon.
"Zap Cannon attack, NOW!" she shouts at me as I stand facing a weak looking Poliwag who looks at me with fear in its eyes.
One jolt of electricity would be enough.
Electric Pokemon are strong against Water Pokemon, I know that and she knows that.
I can tell by the look of satisfaction in her eyes.
I am confused.
My trainer isn't a bad person. She takes care of me and her other Pokemon.
I am well fed and am allowed plenty of rest in between battles.
But light Pokemon are born different to anyone else.
We are born helpful and it has been given to us to save any Pokemon in need.
Last week I saved a newborn Togepi from a blazing fire that threatened to kill many Pokemon living in the area.
Now I am about to harm a poor innocent creature.
What it all comes down to is duty.
I have a duty to my trainer, but I also have one towards the Pokemon who I am meant to save.
Is it possible for me to do both?
Can I keep my relationship with the trainer who could potentially become a friend, and also continue to do the job I love?
It's the only way I will be happy.
I'll find away to do both…
For the sake of duty.
OK I know that this isn't very good, it didn't really take me too long to write. I got the idea from looking at Neo Destiny's Light Jolteon card, which depicts a Jolteon with a Togepi in its arms. I am thinking that this has the potential to be the introduction to a longer story. What do you think?
