I wrote this after I watched episodes 17 and 22, when I realized that Vash repeated what Rem said in a similar situation: "He wasn't going to shoot me." Wolfwood, when confronted with this statement from Vash, told him to "Stop glossing it over with your childish logic," inadvertently insulting Rem. So here's what I came up with for Vash's response tin his mind. Oh, and I don't own Trigun or Vash the Stampede, though I wish I did...Please enjoy, and R&R!

Argument for Life

I find myself speaking

The same words she did

With the same sadness she had

And I see you speaking

With no sympathy at all

How can you! How can you!

How can you stand there

And still not be sorry?

He wasn't going to shoot me...

You were wrong about it all

How dare you! How dare you!

How dare you tell me

That what she thought...

That our logic is wrong?

You don't know what you say...

You don't know what transpired

While we soared on through space

You don't know what happened

So you have no right to judge

You have no right at all...

And I find my self reciting

The same things that she hoped

The same dreams that she shared...

The light we held there with us...

Because they're all my dreams too.
