Chapter I – Harry Potter and the Powers of Glowers
The Gryffindors had just gotten out of double potions with the Slytherins, and Harry was in a foul mood, having just lost his house 30 points. When he, Hermione, and Ron got back to the common room, he collapsed into a nice, comfy chair. Ron was talking loudly to Hermione, which was the only thing keeping Harry from dozing off.
Finally, Harry could stand no more of it, and shot Ron a discontented glance, which hit him square in the chest. Ron flew backwards from the impact of the glance, and hit the wall with a bang. He was just getting comfortable again when Ron threw him a dissatisfied look that smacked him hard in the face, leaving a big, red welt. Beginning to get angry, Harry narrowed his eyes and stared at Ron, which caused Ron to be flung backward into Hermione. Hermione let out a yelp when Ron hit her and she glared at him, knocking him off of the couch and onto the floor with a thud. Ron angrily glanced Hermione's way, but Neville Longbottom walked in the way and was hit by the glance. He was shot into Harry who glowered at him, causing him to be thrown back towards the common room's door. Harry then scowled menacingly at Ron who was caught totally off guard, and was knocked into a pile of Hermione's books, scattering them everywhere. Hermione frowned at Harry, which hit him in such a way that he was flown into the door, too.
Just then, the door to the common room opened and in came none other than Professor McGonagall herself, who was hit by the flying Harry, and she, Harry, and Neville all were knocked out of the common room and into the hallway. An infuriated McGonagall shoved aside Harry and Neville and went into the Gryffindor common room, steaming around the collar. She shouted at Hermione that she was very disappointed at her and expected better of her. Then she gave Harry, Hermione, Ron, and Neville a week's detention of cleaning her room. A disgruntled Harry dragged his feet up to his room where he could rest peacefully, or so he thought…
