Hi everyone! This is my first fanfiction so don't be sooooo hard on me.
Please R&R! Thanx! Oh, and I don't own DoTM so don't sue cause all I have
is some old chewing gum.
It's Not So Bad
Serena Killingsworth sat in her last period class focusing on the clock. She always hated geometry but today's class was even worse. From the moment she stepped out of bed with her runny nose and sore throat she knew today was going to suck. So far Serena missed her bus going to school, got her locker jammed, spilled her lunch, and not to mention managed to receive a detention.
"Serena! Am I boring you?" her teacher Mrs. Pesani scolded.
Serena immediately drew attention back to the lesson.
"No ma'am, sorry."
Mrs. Pesani rolled her eyes and continued on with her lesson about Equal Triangles
Jimena, Serena's best friend was seated across from her. "Hey amiga you'd better pay more attention," she cautioned her. "You've been outta it all day."
Serena nodded in response and attempted to somewhat listen.
I can believe this is happening to me despite the fact I'm a goddess and goddesses never seem to have it bad, she thought to herself. Maybe tomorrow will be better.
After what seemed like an eternity the bell rang and school let out. Catty, Jimena, and Vanessa all gathered around Serena's locker after class.
"We're all going to see this new horror flick, you up for it?" Vanessa asked Serena.
"Yeah, there's mummies and zombies! I hear it's totally gross!" Catty exclaimed.
Jimena looked at Catty and shook her head while Catty just shrugged.
Serena grabbed her music books and slammed her locker. "Maybe next time. Right now I just want to go home and rest," she stated. Serena turned and began walking down the halls.
"See you guys!" she called over her shoulder.
Arriving home much later than usual, (Missing the bus of coarse.) Serena was greeted by her brother Collin.
"What happened to you? You look like a drown rat," he asked snickering.
Her hair was plastered to her face and mud covered her boots and pants legs.
"Wouldn't you believe that as soon as I miss my bus it rains?" she answered throwing her messenger bag on the floor.
Collin looked out the window. The Sun was shining brightly and a rainbow appeared on the horizon.
"Never would have guesses," he said shrugging
Serena grunted and threw her hands up in the air.
"Well anyway, Dad's gonna be late again so I'm going pick up some Chinese food. Want some?" he asked her.
"No, just go. I'm going to lie down," she yawned.
"Okay, be right back!" Collin called out before running outside and starting his van up.
Serena watched him pull out the driveway and closed the curtains when her was out of sight. It she could help it she never wanted to relive this day again. It was as if bad luck just followed her no matter where she went. She never had a day like this when Stanton and her were together.
Tears then started welling up in her eyes Just thinking about Stanton was too depressing. She hadn't seen him since he saved her from the follower Lambert.
"Maybe I'm just tired. I'll just lie down," she convinced herself wiping her eyes.
Suddenly motor of car was heard and then screeching tires followed it. Curious, Serena ran to her front door and ran out on her porch. Even though it was nearly out of view she could make out it was black. Shrugging, Serena thought nothing of it and began to go inside till something caught her eyes.
On the steps was huge crimson bouquet of roses tied together with a silver ribbon. Picking up the bouquet she read the card attached to it:
Dear Serena,
Heard you had a horrible day.
Hope these make you feel better
-Stanton
She inhaled the fragrant smell. "Maybe I'd live out this day just for this part," she smiled to herself.
