Always the same dream.
The waves crashed down on him, pounding him under the water. Surf sprayed his face whenever he managed to get up and breath. Numerous cuts stung from the salt that was in the water all around him.
It was getting harder to breath.
He kept getting pushed under and under, and things were becoming darker. He couldn't reach the top! He must get air! The boy felt as if his lungs were about to explode. Frantically, he made one more attempt to surface, before the darkness swept in all was night.
The dream continued.
"Oy, Serge me mate! Time ta get up and greet the new day! We got work to do!"
A blonde girl was saying to him. The child of the sea sighed, but continued to lay. Annoyed, the girl came over and dragged him out of the bed. He fell to the floor with a thud.
It seemed to go on and on.
"You are ze Arbiter of Time...Ze Chrono Trigger...live your destiny, Serge. You must continue, oui?" A harlequin stood in front of him. She seemed to be pleading with him. An unusual aura of power and deception swirled around her, enveloping him...
He awoke.
The boy quickly sat up, looking around frantically. He was on a beach...Opassa beach! But how? He glanced up to see a worried Leena standing over him.
"Serge, are you alright?"
He gulped, mouth so dry it stuck to the roof of his mouth. "Where's Schala and Kid? What happened to the Time Devourer?!"
Leena blinked, tilting her head. "Time Devourer? You just collapsed on me! Are you alright, Serge?" She lent him a hand up.
Once standing, the child of the sea shook his head, as if dissagreeing. "But...?"
With a giggle, Leena hushed him. "It's summer! Time to relax! Let's go have some fun!"
Schala's last words echoed in his head, and he started to understand. With a smile, he cheered, "Let's go!"
She had reversed time. He had been sent to the exact moment he left off with in his own world, his own time. He had been given a second chance. Summer had started, and so had his life. Serge would live it to his fullest, now, for he had a reason to live.
"Someday...no matter when...no matter what...I'll find ye, Serge!"
The ocean-eyed boy would wait for her.
