Løst Hearts
There was a cold breeze in the air, but all silent. As the remains of the Syndicate men move closer to examine Spike, not sure if he was dead. One of the men knelt down by Spike Wedging his hands under spike. After flipping him to his back the man leaned closer, taking Spike's Pulse. As the man looked up to signal he was dead there was a quick dragging breeze, as Redtail swept by overhead, landing only a few yards away. Faye swiftly jumped out of the cockpit and ran to Spike. As she reached him she fell to her knee's cuffing his cheeks in her hands. Another man in black bent down, placing his hand on her shoulder."He's dead." He said. She pushed him away, tears coming upon her eyes."No, he's faking it" she yelled in anger. Wake up spike, Damn it I said wake up!" She yelled in his ear. She laid her face on his chest, tears pouring from her eyes. She rose and withdrew her gun, Aiming, And opening fire on the rest of the men. Grabbing Spike's dead body, she carried him to the Redtail. After sitting in silence in the Redtail, Spike slung across her lap, she once again begins crying. She thought to herself, ' What would Spike do? '
' Move on? ' She then wiped her tears away staring at Spike, into his eye's. She bends forward and kisses him on the cheek, a slight smile, then starting the Redtail, She blast back into space.
After exiting the Atmosphere, she wasn't sure whether to go back to the Bebop or continue life on her own. Without Spike the Bebop would be real different. As soon as she arrived to the Bebop, both Jet and Ed were waiting at the dock. As she pulled in Jet ran to the cockpit. As it opened Jet examined her facial expression, feeling nothing good of it, then seeing Spike's dead body lying across her lap."...You didn't make it in time...did you?" Jet said, with a dull tone in his voice. Shutting his eyes he looked down, thoughts running through his mind. She climbed out from under him, grabbed his arm and pulled him out, holding him in her arms. Jet grabbed him and carried him into a spare cubicle, lying him down on a bed.
Kneeling down next to him. "I'm sorry old friend, I shouldn't have let you go so easily"
Jet said.
As Jet walked back to where Faye and Ed were he felt a sorrow pain in his heart. As he got back he noticed Faye was refueling. "Well, where ya headed?" Jet asked curiously. "As long as I'm not here I don't care" She replied. As she finished she jumped in the cockpit. She sighed and started the ignition, then blasted off.
"When will Faye-Faye be back?" Ed said confused. "I doubt she will be back, hey where's Ein. Jet looked around confusingly."Aren't you two always toghether?"He said."Ed dunno....."She said. Jet left the room headed to the ship's controls.
As Faye sits in the Redtail, Engines off. She floats above her seat, thinking what to do next. She shuts her eyes and pictures and thoughts of Spike run through her mind. After a few seconds, she falls asleep.
