1 DON"T JUDGE A BOOK BY IT'S COVER OR BY WHAT OTHERS SAY

The educated population in this world is divided into two groups; those who read JK Rowling's marvelous books and awaits the next one eagerly, and those who stay away from it and despises it. We here in fanfiction.net mostly belong to the first group of people, but those around us like our parents and maybe friends are followers of the second.

JK Rowling has fans in every country and sadly…critics. The latter is annoyingly judgmental and arrogant and I'm willing to place all my possessions on the fact that they have not even read the first page of the Harry Potter books. Now, I sadly admit to being one of them previously. I did not openly criticize the books but I did stay away from those four supposedly 'poisonous and deadly' books, having been influenced by the leaders in my church. However, I am glad I read her books, I am glad I didn't stay away.

JK Rowling has not plagued the world with teachings of Satanism, antichrist or witchcraft. Instead, she has brought unto us a world of fantasy and creativeness. Her world consists of normal people who are different because of a thin stick, a wand. But if you think about it carefully, there are only so few harmless differences in that magical world and ours. The only differences are: A huge school, magic (which can also be defined as a way to stick to the couch and not having to get up in order to get whatever our heart's desire when the object isn't within reaching distance), wands, and weird yet magical creatures. Are they dangerous? Do they promote Satanism? No.

Are the critics saying that JK Rowling is actually a devil in disguise merely because she wrote her thoughts and fantasies down on paper and shared it with us?

What about Sabrina, The Teenage Witch? Does anyone criticize that show as much as HP? No. Are there any differences between these two worlds? No( Except that Sabrina doesn't use a wand, which makes it even more freakier).

If we carefully analyze Harry Potter's storyline, we will find that it isn't any different from many children stories, like Cinderella or Snow White. These books' storyline is 'Good will be victorious in the end'. Now, compare this with Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet…which tells of committing suicide for love, which is more a more practical story to be read to young and easily influenced children? You know the answer. The innocence of Harry Potter books isn't even debatable. These books do not teach us about witchcraft at all.

What do these critics think we are? Stupid? That we can't differentiate between good and evil by ourselves? That we are dumb enough to practice witchcraft just because a book contains the words 'magic' and 'witches'? They're the idiots, not us…they think that they're the only one who have brains…that the world won't be able to survive without their brilliantness. Why don't these people just pick up one of the four books and thoroughly read it before jumping to unrational conclusions?

Weren't we thought to give chances and not be judgmental? How are we supposed to be like that when even important leaders in our countries are going against that teaching?

If these critics would just read JK's books, they would learn that they do not contain any witchcraft or Satanists (Except Voldemort…hey! Every book needs one!). If only they will stop being influenced by other people like the most popular kid in school or THE celebrity or idol and judge for themselves. If only they don't judge a book by the cover or by what others say.
