This is from when I was in 9th grade. I wrote a fic based on Shakespeare's

A Midsummer Nights Dream which basically showed my take on how Titania

and Oberon came together.

THE TALE OF TITANIA

She was only a child when he came to the valley. Her childlike fantasies were shattered in an instant, and before she understood what was happening, there was war. The faeries of Blossom Valley fought against Torok's tyranny, but to no avail. They were not a fighting people and preferred their life of peace. So they left. Fifty faeries and fifty servants, in all, left the valley never to return. They took their last look at their old world, and never looked back.

They were all faeries under Queen Nuptial Bliss then. She was the faerie queen's closest friend. Even the queen was just a child thrown into the arms of fate when her father breathed his last breath on the field of battle; now in need of a husband. So the championing began….

Titania, Nuptial Bliss's closest friend and handmaiden, use to watch from the sidelines with little curiosity. She thought the competition to be ridiculous. Grown faeries racing around to show off their prowess through dancing! Of course, it delighted the young Nuptial Bliss, and the attention made her blossom. She forgot her sadness from her father's death, and her cheeks lit up as she laughed joyously.

And then one night, a young suitor stepped into the ring. He was a faerie, yet he was taller then most. He called himself Oberon, and he danced like no other. Titania watched him with a keen interest, but when the song was over she turned away. Nuptial Bliss was intrigued and would have him for a husband; he refused.

"I have danced and shown my skill not for thee, fair Nuptial Bliss, but for thy young handmaiden who sits beside thee." All eyes of the faery circle fastened onto Titania who shifted uncomfortably under the sudden scrutiny. Nuptial Bliss was appalled and jealous all at once. In anger she banished Titania, her truest friend, an action that she came to one-day regret. Titania left that very night with her Oberon for the Athenian wood where they would be wed. She was thrilled that she was to have, in short, nuptial bliss with the only man who enthralled her.

Their arrival in the magical wood was marked with a large greeting party, greatly surprising Titania. All the wood had come to greet and welcome her. Though she did not understand why, she still loved the attention. She asked him then, "My love, Oberon, why do they all greet me as if I was one of them? Why are they all so congenial towards me when I am but a handmaiden?" He merely replied, "Soon, my love. Soon you will know all."

For days before the wedding people came to see her, and the reason continued to elude her. Then the day of her wedding arrived. One night, three handmaidens rushed into Titania's sleeping quarters in a flurry of activity, dressing her. The clothes were made of the finest silks, enamored with jewels of every kind. Why was she given such fine clothes? She asked the maidens. They simply laughed and finished dressing her.

Under the full moon that night, Titania stepped out and walked to the nuptial circle. It will always be said that she floated down the aisle in a daze, like a goddess come down to Earth. She was married then and soon discovered she sat on a pedestal she knew not was there. There was Oberon upon a throne and she beside him, bearing crowns woven of moonlight and silver. And it hit her. She Titania was no longer a mere handmaiden; She was a queen.
