Disclaimer: I don't own LOTR. It belongs to J.R.R. Tolkien. I used the
actual lines Boromir really said in the book, so that also belongs to Mr.
Tolkien.
NOTE: not everything rhymes in this poem. Kinda' slipped here and there, but it works!
The Life of Boromir Is Dead
Out of sight, out of sound
Forever lost
Never found
The life of Boromir
Is dead
Boromir; mortal; strong and proud
Blew the horn of Gondor long and loud
As Orcs rampaged across the land
He and the Fellowship drew weapons at hand
A battle of importance;one to remember
When Boromir fell, a dying ember
Frodo and Sam escaped from the lot
And poor Boromir was finally shot
By Uruk-hai and following Orcs
Armed with blades and deadly pitchforks
Boromir fought with potency and might
Now he had seen the hope in light
He knew he would die…..
He knew he would die…..
Boromir was slain by the hand of the Uruk-hai,
But he died with triumph and glory in his eye
Sorrow is spawned from the sight of his body
At the bottom of the river, dead and rotting
"I have tried to take the Ring from Frodo. I am sorry. I have paid"
said Boromir on the ground as he had laid
"Farewell Aragorn! Go to Minas Tirith and save my people! I have failed."
Twas Tolkien's account, the people wail
Then he took his final breath
Behold, he was dead
Remember us now, Boromir of Gondor,
Wherever you are, in paradise down yonder
