Following Behind Me

My future seems uncertain

My past so far away

I know I'm teetering on the edge

I feel it start to sway

And so I jump across the brink

And try to keep my hold

It seems that I was sent away

Without my journey being told

Alone is all I seem to be

And I wish I could know why

I know I'll stumble helplessly

And then alone I'll die

But that future won't agree with him

He must come along with me and help

I wish that he would let me be

And think about himself

I still believe in miracles

Though through hopelessness I climb

But I take courage that my miracle

Is walking straight behind
