5 Taisen Nagasaki. He couldn't think. He stood quietly sweeping the obsolete grounds of his grandfather's temple. So much was on his mind. He was only 17. He didn't need all this stress. He never dreamed that he would have to face what he was going through now. About his parents. They had both died just two weeks ago. It was hard on Taisen. He didn't know whether to cry or to try to be strong. But that was only a piece of the pie. His brother Majobi was three years older than him. They were close. Like best friends. He felt as if he could feel as if he could always be safe around Majobi. Like nothing wrong could ever happen. Boy was he wrong.

6 Having his brother leave wasn't hard on his parents. They never got the chance. They were archeologist and were always gone. To some important dig in Europe or to trade bones in South America. But they weren't always gone. There were a lot of good times involved with the job…… But he didn't want to think about them right now. It hurt too much. Sweeping the shrine was all that mattered right now.

"Taisen, you've done enough," Taisen heard his Grandfather, Grandfather Polo, call. He turned around to see the humble figure that spoke his name. His grandfather. Wiseman Polo, as he was better known in Tokyo. He had many years of knowledge. He was wise beyond years, and shared his knowledge with every soul who listened. It also helped that he looked the part. He had small round specs that he wore just below his nose. A long, traditional, white kimono wrapped his not yet fragile body. And gray and black hair covered his head in a pony tail. Even if Taisen's grandfather wasn't wise, he colud convince anyone that he was with his look and mild- mannered voice.

"Oh, grandfather. I just want to make sure the shrine is always clean," Taisen replied.

"Yes, you've been a big help. And I thank you. But I sense something else is troubling you," Grandfather Polo admited.

"Well it's everything. My life was totally destroyed in just one month. I guess I just don't understand why any of it happened. Especially to me," Taisen sighed

"Taisen not everything in life is good. There will be some bad. But for every bad thing, there is a good thing waiting to happen," Grandfather Polo replied.

"I guess……" Taisen said. Nothing made sense anymore. Including his grandfather's wise words.

"Are you ready for your first day of school?" Grandfather Polo asked.

"I have to be. For my sake," Taisen replied.
