Relena's Song

A poem by Tseecka Akeunah

Why do you not return for me?

My heart is freezing over, cold

Every night I sit alone and wait for thee

But you are dead or so I'm told

Yet I wait for your love to return

And lift me up on golden wings

For true love, like ours, will e'er endure

And because of this, my heart sings.

So I will wade out in the water

To wait for your call

And I'll sing out with the stars

Wish upon each one that falls

And I'll laugh with the sun

And with the dolphins play, until one day

You return for me.

Yet my heart yearns to be

Close to you once again

While outside the sun shines bright and strong

Inside my heart, it rains

My words are strong but my heart is weak

If someone were to push me, I would fall

And I would never get up again

Until I saw your hand reaching down.

(This poem is written as if it is Relena singing, waiting for Heero to return from his mission, although everyone says he's dead. She's waiting for some symbol of their love so that she can kill herself to be with him. I think. That's kinda what I was going for. So review and tell me what you thought!)
