Perpetuality - A Short Story

A twinge of jealousy.
It stabs like a knife.
The twisting blade digs further within the sweet blessings of a kiss.
Perhaps the cool, refreshing feeling of lips upon lips, bodies pressed together would numb the pain, but it continues to throb.
The heart does it's job, sending searing-hot streams of blood pouring throughout the body, even though it is racked with pain.
Eyes dart back and forth as the kiss is released, as if looking for a competitor.
Maybe some glorious champion out to claim a prize.
The pain softens as skin connects with skin in a sensual touch.
It is only for a brief moment, but the recognition of a theme is present.
Love.
It conquers all obstacles, jumps all hurdles.
Love knows no boundaries, only feelings, senses, emotions.
The heart slows, the body aches for blood, but turns cold.
The touch is gone.
No more kisses, no more touches, no more love.
The end is here.
The emotions are gone.
The body is an empty shell.
Until next time.
Until she sees him again.
Until her secret lover returns.
Until her cool brown eyes catch sight of his blue gaze again.
Until the end.
