When Mermaids Cry

This is to be my epic X-Men Evolution fic. I haven't seen much of it, but I've got a plot bunny that won't let go! GAH! And you know Kitty's voice actress? It's Holly from Monster Rancher acting like a Valley Girl! I HATE KITTY NOW! SHE DESTROYED HOLLY FOR ME! I hate valley girls. But I might like Kitty if I see more eps. I just think that Kurt is soooo cayute! I've thought so since I saw him in the original X-Men cartoon on Fox Kids, actually. Oops. I should get on topic. Anyways, the title of this story comes from one of my favourite songs. It's by Eagle Eye Cherry, and I love it. X-Men Evolution is property of the geniuses at Marvel and the people at Kids WB for making the cartoon.

"Now, class, we have a new transfer student this semester."

In the second row from the back, Kurt Wagner rolled his eyes.

"Mein Kampf, if there's one more enemy in disguise, I don't know vat I'll do." He whispered to his friend Kitty.

"Kurt, are you actually worrying?" Kitty's dark brown eyes had lit up flirtatiously, and Kurt automatically ran his hand through his thick black hair. His eyes screamed 'She digs me!'.

"Our transfer student hails from Yokohama Japan. Please welcome Lorelei Kinomoto." A young woman, not taller than 5' 4'' entered the classroom. Her face was picturesque, to say the least. Her blue eyes were slanted, and her lips were cherry blossom pink. Her black hair was long and wavy, and she reminded Kitty of Hu Li from Rush Hour 2, but warmer.

"I look forward to my stay here and to making quite a few new friends here." Her English was impeccable. "May I ask where I am to sit?"

"Behind Kurt would be fine." The teacher pointed to him, and Kurt's eyes widened as he saw into one of his classmate's bags. Inside was a CD with the title 'Siren'. On it was the face of Lorelei.

She walked down the aisle, a small smile that didn't quite reach her eyes on her face. Once she sat down, class resumed as normal. However, Kurt's mind was full of suspicions. His mind was full of questions, but one statement stood out in his mind.

I do not like her one bit.
