1 Chapter 1- Popularity
Thom glanced at himself in his new mirror. Today was his first day as a page and he wanted to look good. King Jonathan had changed the rules about having to wear a page uniform so he was dressed smartly in a crisp, new shirt and brown breeches. His hair was neatly come back, still damp from his earlier wash. His purple eyes shone with pride and joy. Following in his mothers footsteps had been his dream since, well, forever.
A knock on the door brought him back to his senses. He opened it to reveal the royal training master, Sir Leo of Dragons Rock (Random, I know.) He smiled at Thom. Sir Leo was one of his mother's friends and Thom knew having such a powerful and famous mother would give him a good reputation. It had always been like that. No one angered the Lioness's son.
Thom stepped out the door and joined the end of the line of new pages, waiting to be sponsored. Sir Leo worked his way down the line and when he got to Thom twenty people put their hands up to sponsor him. Thom blushed. He had hoped to be considered normal but obviously that wasn't going to happen. Sir Leo looked around at the willing pages and finally said,
"I think it would be best if Thom has Eric of Queenscove as his sponsor."
The boy he pointed to grinned, obviously pleased that he had been chosen. He had green eyes and brown hair and seemed extremely friendly. As Sir Leo moved down the line of new page Eric whispered,
"I'm so happy I was chosen. My uncle Neal will be very pleased."
"Your uncle is Nealan of Queenscove, my mothers former squire?" asked Thom, realising why he had recognised his looks.
Eric nodded. "He is also one of Lady Kel's beat friend. Us Queenscove seem to have a habit of befriending lady knights and they're relatives." He smiled.
They looked up as Sir Leo cleared his throat.
"Right, new pages. You have the rest of today and the whole of tomorrow to get used to the palace and get anything you will need. On Monday your lessons as a page will begin. Your sponcers will keep you from getting too lost and so until Monday it is up to you on how you spend your time. If you need me, ask a fellow page They all know where to find me." With that he spun round and walked off.
Do ya like it. I'll add more soon, I've already got plot sorted out. PLEASE R/R. I BEG YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
