The Unworthy Challenger
By Pelican (Pelican_13@yahoo.com)

I choose my fighter,
my enemy always thinks himself better.
He picks his character,
to me it doesn't matter.
Final Destination, no items
are the engagement rules.
He thinks I'll lose.
I know I shall defeat him like before,
but I say nothing and nothing more.
As the match begins he comes to attack,
but I am not hesitant to fight back.
I dodge his attacks, he never touches me,
to me, this is key.
But I am not a wuss, I have an offensive of my own.
When I hit him he will groan.
Frustration builds in his eyes,
as his first life promptly dies.
He comes back, trying to take me out.
A battle cry, he will shout.
When his invincibility goes down,
his hopes will drown.
I continue dealing damage.
He's hurt before he can eliminate me,
and soon he will see.
I am a life or two ahead,
And I will make sure that is said.
Eventually, he is on his last stock.
Bet he doesn't feel like such a jock.
I have two or more lives remaining,
which surely gets him complaining.
"Shut up! You lost! Didn't you see?
Your so called 'skills' couldn't beat me!"
He challenges me to another fight,
and I respond with, "Yeah, right!"
I need not prove anything, for I am victorious,
which never ends up being glorious,
for he complains, even though he was an easy kill.
His kind are simply unworthy of my skill.

Author's Note: Well that's my poem. Maybe it isn't the greatest melee poem of all but I wanted to denounce those who are 'all talk.' I've known too many of them and I've grown tired of fighting them.
