Author's Note: This is a really bad poem. It doesn't even rhyme. I just did this for my friend Herald-trainee Larria because she encouraged me to write fanfiction in the first place.

1 A CRY OF DARKNESS AND DESPAIR

Everything is black,

All is veiled in darkness.

There is nothing here,

But shadows within shadows.

I am alone.

Lost in darkness;

Lost in despair.

Separated from family and friends.

Not a single light in the darkness;

Nothing to guide me back.

I feel my hope fading away

As I am trapped in the dark.

I feel despair around my heart

As my mind cries out with fear.

Is there no one here to help,

As darkness swallows the light?

A sound as sweet as a bell,

A light as small as a flickering candle;

Yet as beautiful as the sunrise

Over mountains long forgotten.

As everything seems lost

And I give up to despair

Someone heard my cry,

And gave me hope that parted the dark.

As I open my eyes

All I see is blue

Like the sky on a summer's day

Or the sea when it is serene.

Your eyes are so beautiful,

I lose myself in the distance.

You help me return

From the darkness within.

I love you because of your works,

"I Chose you my little sister!

You will never be alone for I am here."

And our bond was formed.

Now I am at the palace,

Learning what a Herald knows.

My friends and Companion: all are here.

For Haven and Collegium will always be my home!

Really bad, I know. My English teacher would laugh at this if she could see it. Just don't flame me please.
