Passions: A New Beginning

A/N: This is my take on the "It's all been just a dream" rumor.  This may or may not happen on the actual show. It starts at the end of Thursday's show, (I only get to see Tuesday and Thursday's episodes) so it might not match up with what really happened.

Part One:

"Thank you." I said as I took the tape from the deliveryman.  "What do I owe you?

"Nothing at all, Mrs. Crane," The henchman said, then turned and walked away.  I shut the door and looked down at the tape.

"I wonder what this is," I muttered. I shrugged and went upstairs to my room.  I popped the tape into the VCR and hit play.

"Julian," I growled in hatred.  Then I watched in horror as he was shot.  The camera panned to show the killer.

"Ethan!" I nearly screamed.  "Oh my God, Ethan killed Julian! It was him!"

I sunk onto the bed in horror.  Ethan had killed Julian?  It didn't make any sense.

"Ethan killed Julian for me." I murmured.

"Do you think she bought it?" Rebecca asked.

"Oh, I hope so. The quicker that little bitch confesses, the quicker Ethan can move on with his life and get with Gwen."

"A match made in heaven," Ivy agreed.  Then something dawned on her.  "Rebecca, what if the real killer comes forward at the trial to save Theresa?"

"Oh, please. Now who in this town besides Ethan, Whitney and Pilar really care about the little twit? No, we're free and clear," Rebecca said.

"Are you sure?" Ivy pressed.

"Yes, Ivy, stop worrying." Rebecca grinned.  "So where do you think Ethan and Gwen should have their wedding?"

I was stunned.  No, that's not the word. I was beyond stunned.

"What am I going to do? No one can know that Ethan killed Julian. My God, what if Sam—or anybody for that matter—gets their hands on this tape? No, that can't happen! I won't let Ethan go to jail! There's no way I would let that happen." I yanked the tape out from the VCR and stared at it.  Then I dropped it on the floor and stepped on it as hard as I could.  There was a crack as the casing broke.  I did it again and again until the tape was broken in half.  I opened the closet doors and shoved the tape into the deepest corner I could find.

I sighed.  "I said that I would do anything for love, right? Maybe this is a test. To see if I would take the blame for Julian's death."

I sighed again.  Then I squared my shoulders and looked at the phone.  "I'm sorry, Ethan, but I have to do this. No one can ever know the truth."

I picked up the phone and dialed Sam Bennett's phone number.

There was a knock at the front door.  Ivy and Rebecca exchanged looks.

"Now who could that be?" Ivy asked.

"With any luck, the police."

As Rebecca started towards the door, Theresa's voice came from the top of the staircase.

"No, Rebecca, let me get it."

"Fine," Rebecca snarled.

Theresa descended the staircase as Ethan came into the area.

"What's going on?" He asked as Theresa opened the door.

"Theresa?" Ethan said when he saw the two policemen.

"Sorry, Ethan, but she's being arrested in connection with the murder of Julian Crane."

Theresa was handcuffed in silence and led away.

Ivy and Rebecca pretended to be shocked, but internally were happy that the little slut had finally gotten what she deserved.

Ethan stared in horror at the closed door.  His Theresa? A murderess?

Impossible.
