 Things you don't expect to happen, happen. Of course, the things you expect to happen, hardly ever do. Like love for instance. There are those that just automatically expect love to fall into their hands. For others (like me) love is something that seems hard to come by or not the most important thing on the mind.

I have always wonderd what it was that kept so many couples together. How can they have that look in their eyes that no one else but their love match? I've tried asking around my friends about it, but they just laugh. They tell me that one day, I will find out. And when I do, there will be nothing that matters more. Maybe that's true, maybe not. Then I think, 'well, it must be true. Why would so many couples be so good together? It's weird to think it would happen, but then again, I am only a young one. We shall see in the future shan't we?

Chapter One

It was a nice day in Hobbition. The birds had been chirping sense early that morning. I normally didn't get up early, but I had plans for this day. I had to go to the middle of town to do some grocery shopping. Food was on high priority that night. Mom and dad had let me invite some of my friends to dinner that night. I had invited Frodo Baggins, Meridock Brandybuck, Perigin Took, Samwise Gamgee, Ruby Bramble, Esmerelda Underhill,and Lara Bulge. All were very good friends of mine. I had know all of them sense I was a baby hobbitt, except for Lara. I had only known her sense she was ten.

I knew I had to include mushrooms in the meal. Whenever I talked with Pippin or Merry, they somehow managed to get the topic of mushrooms involved. It was quiet comical at times. I never said it myself, but I loved mushrooms too. I remember one time when Esmerelda, Ruby, and I had went to Farmer Maggots farm and stole mushrooms. Oh, how scared I was that day! I don't think I had ever run so fast in my life!

I had just arrived at the grocer when I heard Perigin shouting at Meridock.

"MERRY! Don't take all the musrooms you dimwit! You gotta let there be some so Rosie can buy them for dinner tonight. You know she will include them. Now, do you have the money?"

"Oops. Was I supposed to? I thought you had the money Pip! I didn't bring any. Besides, grocer Boffin owes us don't you think? He never paid us for all that blasted work we did last summer. Lets make a run for it!" As Merry was saying this, grocer Boffin came around the corner and started chasing them.

"Merridock and Perigin! Stay where you are! If you intend to leave with those mushrooms, you will be paying for them!"

I had to laugh at the guys, they were always pulling stunts like this. Obvisouly, today was no different. I went about my errands picking out the different things I needed for dinner that night.
