Good Bye To Paradise

Blue eyes turned up to the sky. Pale arms reached up to the darkened sky. The falling rain caressed the upturned face, exploring the shadows like a lover's inqusitive fingers.
The blue eyes slid closed. Never had the ten year old felt so alone.
Above the young girl's head flitted a small animal. White in color, with gold fur on the tip of it's tail, the creature's brown eyes flicked concernedly over the girl.
From somewhere came a roar. The girl turned slightly as if welcoming the sound. The blue eyes scanned the surrounding forest, searching for the source of the sound.
Another roat. The miniture creature chirped in answer.
The creature landed near the girl. A pale light shimmered from it, glimmering in the rain. The blue eyes still scanned the forest, not watching as the creature by her feet grew to a size slightly bigger than a full grown male lion. Pale gold wings stretched as the creature roared at the rain.
It turned around and glance at the girl standing next to it. "Plio, get on."
"Sakura..." The girl moaned. "Li..."
The lion creature growled and a wing pushed the crying girl to the creature's back. "You won't be able to help them if you're caught."
Plio dumbly nodded as her hands clutched blindly at the white fur. Tears threatened to fall down the pale cheeks. "Calla...?"
Calla growled softly as she pushed off the ground. "Hush, child."
Plio made a choked sound, but nodded. She leaned forward to lay against the creature.
The guardian beast felt her charge fall asleep. She felt sorry for the girl. The poor dear had no idea what had happened to her friends. Not that Callanor knew herself, but still....
