Her time was almost up. The red
bell rang loudly. Amilia popped out of
the black and white picture, onto the
fluffy green carpet in her room.
Every night after she came home
from school and did all of her homework;
she would run up to her room and pick out
another unused picture. The she would
set it into the red, wood, picture frame.
On the picture frame there was a
knob. Amilia would turn the knob and set
the time to which she wanted to return
to the place in the picture.
This time the picture was of a farm.
It had a white house with a red barn and
a tire swing hanging from a golden elm
tree. Along with that there were yellow
daisies waving in the wind.
Amilia set the time so that the sun
would be right above her in the sky. She
turned the picture frame over and pressed
the two switches. All of the sudden she was
being sucked into the picture, head first.
Amilia's long brown hair was like
chocolate flowing down a river. She was
wearing a blue and white flowered dress
with a slip under it, so that it puffed out at the hips.
She danced and fell in the flowers until
her time was up. Once again the bell rang
and she fell out of the picture. Amilia knew
that she would never be able to go there
again. She watched as the picture burst into
flames and the grey ashes flew out if the window.
The next day at school all Amilia could
think about was, how she craved to go home
and pick out another picture. She was addicted,
the pictures were now a way of life for her.
She couldn't let then go; even though she
knew that she could get hurt.
After school Amilia ran home, her
blue jeans flapping in the wind. This time
she grabbed a gloomy looking picture. She
started to breath faster. Still she was
determined to go there. Amilia set the
time so that it would be dusk.
When she got in the picture it thundered
loudly. The lightening crashed like a whip
hitting a cymbal. Clear, wet tears started to
roll down Amilia's cheeks. Her skin was
white and she was shaking with fright.
Finally after the bell rang and she
was safe back inside her room. She promised
her self that she would never go inside a
picture again. Amilia would be put to the true
test the next day after school.
