Aros- Ai no Kami (Aros- God of Love)
The Gods were punishing her, of that, the girl was sure.
'Why do they on Olympus curse me so?' the blonde haired seventeen year old thought. She crept away from her house silently, the rain dripping through her hair and down her back. The girl, called Serene, was running. Away from her home in Athens. Away from her family of two older sisters, and stern but kind mother and father. Away from the men who came, constantly bidding on her hand in marriage. The year was B.C. 65, and the most beautiful girl in all of Greece was running, disguised as a man and barely enough money to eat for a few months.
Little did she know, only one immortal was cursing her. High on Mount Olympus, a tall, fair God watched her actions through a mirror as though it was a television. (This is long before TV, though.) The blonde God was in love. Ironic, he thought to himself sometimes, that the God of Love could fall in love without the use of one of my own arrows.
True, this God, Aros- to some, better known as Cupid, but in Olympus affectionately called Quatre- was the God of Love, and true, he could be comissioned by the other Gods to make people fall in love, but his mother had always told him that he was not capable of having that emotion for a mortal. But he was, and he knew
'Then again,' he reflected, 'my mother hates Serene.' It was the truth- his mother, Aphrodite, loathed Serene with every immortal bone in her body. It was for one simple reason---
Jealousy.
The Goddess Aphrodite would do anything to stop the hordes of men who traveled to see Serene, leaving her altars unattended.
Anything.
Even if it meant killing Serene.
