THE END COMES BEYOND DEATH - PROLOGUE
It's funny how only too late we figure out past mistakes. By making one decision in the past, who knew we literally destroyed any chance of a future?
---
Magus cursed and immediately regretted it. His entire face was bloody beyond recognition. One eye was damaged in such a way that it would no longer be usuable and his nose was literally hanging on an inch of skin. Not to mention the rest of his body, which pretty much no longer existed. One leg was totally unusuable, the other simply a bloody stump. Strangely enough, his arms were undamaged, looking the same as always.
He let his eyes fall upon the destroyer and gave a low curse again. Every second of his life had been pain and destruction. He had never known love or happiness besides in the insane killings he, as a mystic, had taken part in.
That was his only regret.
What awaited him now, he wondered? The abyss? Hell? In a sense, he didn't care. All of his life could be described as pain and death. And now, he himself was going to meet the reaper.
Towering over him, the destroyer let his scythe flow fly through the air. With a sickening sound, Magus' head rolled across the floor.
In his last moments of life, all he worried about was the child's future.
---
That was short because it was the prologue. Next chapter will be MUCH longer.
