Star dreamer
hidden away at the center of the sky
what do you hear?
Can you hear the pounding
of my heart's fear?
I suppose that I am afraid
I guess that I am scared
that you should turn me away
with a harsh word and a glare.

surrounded by the blue light
do you know the reason
behind my unreasonable fright?
Star dreamer
I must confess to you
that I am truly flawed
to be so fool enough to love
one who will not love me at all.
Star dreamer
answer me this:
is it foolish to love one-sided?
Is unrequited love a bad thing?
'Cuz I feel it now for you
and it must be such a divine foolishness
because I don't feel a fool at all.
Star dreamer
please don't reply to this
for I will surely cry
for I know that you already love
one not so flawed as me.
Don't tell me that you're sorry,
that this pain has cut me through
I just wanted you to know,
that I truly do love you.

please don't let him know
that I wrote this just for you.
He won't like it very much
and he is a dear friend of mine
so please don't tell your lover
that I was here this time.

you must think me dumb
to write this out to you
you already are in love with him
and that pain it cuts right through.
Perhaps he will someday find this letter
and wonder if I'm insane
for I told him once that all I want
is for you two to be happy again.

what I said is true, I do not wish to impose
upon this perfect relationship
so he can go ahead and propose.
I just needed to get this all out
though you probably think me a fool
I couldn't let myself go on
inside only singing the blues.

all I want is your perfect friendship in my life
for although I love you
to love and let go is the greatest and best thing to do.

don't reply to this
because I know just what you'd say;
you'd tell me that it's all okay
and that you're glad that I understand.
That isn't what I want just now
I just want to live.
To write this was just one more step
to becoming more of myself.
