Missing Neopia

by Lady Mouse

Missy grabbed Plushie by her spiked collar and dragged her inside the Maximal base.

"What did I do?" Plushie defended herself.

"You know what you did." Missy sighed. It was much easier in Neopia. She knew it too well.

Afraid depression would take over her,she always kept busy. But she could only think when she was busy. And thinking broke her sole in two.But if she stayed still, she'd be too depressed to move.

To keep busy, she looked after her pets.Though job.She hardly slept.

Finally, she got a spare moment to kill. She sat on a rock outside the Maximal base, with her forehead in her hand.In just a split second, thousands of thoughts passed through her head.

She missed Neopia more than her pets. She missed the excitement, the people, her friends, the games, even her guild, although she primised herself never to miss those lame excuses for pirates that at guild parties would get drunk and at "Give me hope,Joanna" would start lining one after another and jump from one foot to another, affected from the drink.

Things were not looking bright.

The Maximals were great an' all,but Neopia had a certain flare. The energy, humor, mystery and sometimes horror.

Something warm muzzled her hand.

"Hey,Charmy" Missy petted Charmy's head.

"Why are you sad?" Charmy asked.

"I'm not sad."

"Oh,yes you are.You have that face." Charmy jumped in Missy's lap.

"Oh...just...missing Neopia,I guess..." Missy got up,carrying Charmy."It'd the only true home I've ever had..." she whispered in her long ear.
