Poem from Goku to Gohan from right before until right after the Cell Games. Sappy. I'm warning you. Putting this in DBZ instead of poetry because, honestly, who else would want to read a DBZ poem?!

A/N—Ok, this is a bit stupid and sappy, but I felt compelled to write it after reading super-saiyan-monkey's poem.  Btw, this is dedicated to her, super-saiyan-monkey.  Thanks for the inspiration!

Gohan's Pain

Why are your eyes so bleak, my child,

Had to grow up to soon?

Had to abandon childish toys,

And save the world this noon?

Why are your eyes so sad, my child,

Our hopes all rest on you.

Just shelve your doubts and lift your chin,

We know that you'll pull through.

Why are your eyes so pained my son,

With tears you've never shed,

You've made me proud—this day you've won,

Don't be sad I'm dead.

Why are your eyes so red my son,

With tears from dusk 'til dawn,

Please don't grieve—I'm still with you,

I love you son—my Gohan.

***Ok, adding this on, because I'm PRETTY sure I got the line "Why are your eyes so ______ my child?" from somewhere—I have absolutely NO IDEA where, but it seems WAY to familiar now that I think about it, so, I hereby disclaim that too!
