Monica walked downstairs and looked around. She didn't see anyone,
so she headed into the kitchen. She grabbed a mug, and poured herself a
very large cup of coffee. She seated herself at the dining room table and
inhaled the glorious scents of her favorite drink.
She jumped when a pair of hands landed on her shoulders. She looked to see two emerald eyes she knew so well. She smiled then stood up.
"Hey Angel girl," Andrew greeted.
"Hey yourself," Monica replied. He looked down at her cup of coffee and sighed.
"Miss Wings, you're hopeless," he stated, his eyes mischievous. She gave a sheepish smile.
"I know," she agreed, nodding and trying to be serious, but failing miserably. She started laughing hysterically. Andrew looked at her and shook his head.
"Too much coffee, huh Monica?" he asked, half jokingly. She smiled and nodded her head.
"This is only my third cup," she countered. Andrew laughed out loud.
"Only?" he said, practically falling on the floor from laughter. She pouted and put her hands on her hips.
"And just what is so funny, Halo boy?" she asked, causing more laughter from Andrew. When he finally got a hold of himself, he kissed the tip of her nose.
"Oh Angel girl, you're just too cute sometimes," he said. She picked up her cup of coffee and smiled. Within ten minutes, the coffee was gone, which caused Andrew's jaw to drop. Monica giggled and put a finger under his chin and put it back into place.
"Where's Tess?" Monica asked, seriously.
"All she said to me, was that she had an assignment, but wouldn't tell me where," Andrew explained. Monica nodded, then yawned. She smiled sheepishly.
"Tired?" Andrew asked, a small smile playing on his lips. Monica nodded again.
"Yeah," she answered, sleepily.
"Why don't you get a little sleep? We don't have anything to do today," he said.
"Okay," she replied. Andrew settled himself on the couch. Monica sat next to him and leaned against his shoulder. He put his arm around her. He started to sing to lull her to sleep.
Can this be true?
Tell me, can this be real?
How can I put into words what I feel?
My life was complete
I thought I was whole
Why do I feel like I'm losing control?
I never thought that love could feel like this
And you've changed my world with just one kiss
How can it be that right here with me
There's an angel
It's a miracle…
Your love is like a river
Peaceful and deep
Your soul is like a secret
That I never could keep
When I look into your eyes
I know that it's true
God must have spent a little more time on you
In all of creation
All things great and small
You are the one that surpasses them all
More precious than
Any diamond or pearl
They broke the mold
When you came in this world
And I'm trying hard to figure out
Just how I ever did without
The warmth of your smile
The heart of a child
That's deep inside
Leaves me purified
Chorus
Never thought that love could feel like this
And you've changed my world with just one kiss
How can it be that right here with me
There's an angel
It's a miracle…
Chorus
Andrew finished the song and looked down at Monica. She was sleeping peacefully in his arms with a slight smile on her pretty face. Andrew smiled and kissed her forehead.
"Sleep well, baby girl," he whispered in her ear. He leaned back against the couch and soon fell asleep himself.
