AN: A short little piece I have never written anything but dark angel stuff but I am a huge fan of alias and had to write something. I am incredibly pissed about Vaughn's death!
Her mother wouldn't let her go, but she got away she always did. She found her way home, made it back to her old life. Back to her house, her job, even school, back to life. But nothing was the same, nothing was right. Dixon didn't trust her, neither did Francie. She looked around at those she loved, she hurt them. Will was tortured, her father might lose his place at the CIA, and Vaughn. He had made that speech about his father, being a good man and questioning the job you do. He had let her know that's why he helped her. But she knew the real reason. He had loved her the way she loved, still loves him. And gave up his life doing something not to save her but her friend, because it meant that much to her. He gave up his life for her. And he never got to know that she loved him. She could have told him a thousand times but never did. And then she couldn't save him. It was her fault he died all her fault. Just as it was her fault that Danny had died, she had blamed SD6, but now knew it was her fault. And this time there was no one else to blame. And now she looked at the faces of those she still loved, Dixon, Will, Francie, her father. She couldn't lose them too, she couldn't be responsible again. So she went to work, she had to do this at work and got one of those little pills from marshals office. She sat down at her desk and took the pill. Dixon was the one that noticed a few minutes later that Sydney wasn't just laying her head down for a second.
"Sydney what you get no sleep?" Dixon said nudging her to wake her. But she wouldn't wake.
There were two graves, two funerals. One fake for the people of SD6 and one real that her other friends went to. The real one was next to Vaughn's grave. Even in death she was split in two. But her body lying there next to Vaughn's, and unable to cause harm to any of the ones she loved again, she found peace.
