I was reading Episode Zero (for the tenth time today) and my mind started
to wander. Here's where that little journey took me…

Nothing to Do… All Eternity to Do It

They were at it again…
"My boy is kicking your boy's butt."
"Is not… aren't you supposed to be a pacifist?"
"We're dead. Quit bringing up old shit."
King Peacecraft and Koichi Tokita (1) were observing their offspring from the beyond. Koichi raised an eyebrow at the deceased monarch's last statement. "Did you just say 'shit?"
"I didn't know it was possible to become deaf after you died…" King Peacecraft muttered.
"Why you…" Koichi made to hit him.
"Don't you two have anything better to do than spy on your sons?" a new voice chided. The two men looked at each other.
"No." they chorused. The new person sighed.
"Men…"
"Oh and you don't spy on Wufei every chance you get, Meilan?" another person chided.
"That is different, Bloom." Meilan huffed. "Wufei is my husband." Henrietta Bloom smirked but didn't reply.
"Speaking of husbands, where is yours?" Koichi asked Henrietta. "I'm sure he would enjoy seeing how much his kids have grown."
"He's still out exploring the cosmos." Henrietta grinned. "Christopher enjoys being able to look at the stars up close."
The four people continued to talk about the joys of the afterlife when a new person joined the discussion. "Hello everyone, the Winners won't be joining us today. They've gone off to join Christopher."
"They're missed a wonderful battle." Koichi chuckled. "My boy is beat the tar out of Peacecraft's son."
"That's a lie and you know it, Tokita." King Peacecraft snapped.
"Is not!"
"Is too!" The new person turned to the women.
"Those two at it again, huh?"
"When aren't they?" Meilan groaned. "See anything interesting, Robert Furst?" The newcomer grinned lopsidedly. Meilan always called him 'Robert Furst' (2) never just 'Robert'.
"You mean besides the time my junior shot Tokita's kid and scared the crap out of Peacecraft's (3)?" Henrietta and Meilan laughed.
"Your kid just got lucky!" King Peacecraft and Koichi yelled. Robert just laughed.
"Hey, look over there!" Henrietta exclaimed. "Isn't that the Winner's boy?" The others craned their necks to get a better look.
"Oh yeah… hey, Koichi isn't that your boy in the corner?" Robert pointed out.
"Unfortunately…" Koichi sighed. "He's at that damned laptop again. Sometimes I wish he'd take after Raberba's son… hell even Robert's boy is better."
"Hey!" Robert exclaimed.
"And just what is wrong with my boy?" King Peacecraft asked ominously.
"Your son's a prick." Koichi snorted.
"WHAT!!!???" King Peacecraft was about to try and kill Koichi a second time when…
"Children, children. Let's not fight. Isn't there enough of that on Earth already?"
"Stay out of this, Yuy." The two combatants snarled. Heero (4) held up his hands in defeat and walked away.
In the land of the living, a handful of young people sneezed as they were being discussed in the world of the dead.

Koichi Tokata did the art for the Gundam Wing manga and Battlefield Pacifist. I thought it would be nice to name Heero's father after him.
Robert Furst is the name of one of the senseis in my style, Cuong Nhu and I named Duo's dad after him. O'Sensei (the founder of the style who died two years ago) never called him Robert and I thought it would be fun to have Meilan do the same.
I don't know if he ever did scare Zechs; it just sounded like something Duo would do.
